One of the privileges I get to enjoy as the owner of Eagle Sports is getting to meet and interact with amazingly gifted Watersports athletes. I feel very blessed that the top athletes in the sport look to Eagle for the wetsuit equipment that not only keeps them protected, but allows them to perform at their peak abilities. But most of all, I enjoy getting to know the skiers on our team and can’t… thank them enough for the feedback they give us to help improve our products. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I was looking through all the pictures we took throughout 2011. There were thousands. I sorted out my favorites for each of our team athletes. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be posting these pictures. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Our first featured skier is Regina Jaquess. A class act on and off the water. Thank you to Stuart Parsons for letting us stay at his gorgeous ski ranch for the night. We’re on our way to meet family and friends for a great Thanksgiving weekend. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

 Lovers What: Waterski Bootcamp 2012 is 3 days of skiing, working out and learning from Matt Rini and Whitney McClintock. Each day will begin with a morning cardio session or balance session followed by a dynamic warm-up and 2 waterski lessons at Matt’s Lake. The afternoon session will include strength or core + flexibility workouts. Friday and Saturday will be massage and tactical planning night- three athletes will receive a sports massage from Maria Arredondo on Friday while the other three athletes have two-on-one tactical planning session with Matt and Whitney; Saturday it switches. Enjoy a healthy and delicious Sunday evening recap the weekend and celebrate success over a healthy home-cooked meal prepared by Whitney. Each bootcamper will go home with a 1 month personalized training program and a FREE gift from Waterski Bootcamp 2012! The ULM water ski team returned to its usual place!

The ULM water ski team returned to its usual place in the collegiate water skiing world, winning the Collegiate Water Ski National Championships this past weekend at Tri-City Lakes in Zachary.

The program has 23 championships in 33 years of the event, but the Warhawks finished second place in 2010 after four straight titles under coach Treina Landrum.

“We had some of the same skiiers with us, but we had nine new skiiers this year with a lot of outstanding true freshmen,” Landrum said. “We’ve won every tournament we’ve competed in this season, and this is a dedicated group of athletes that have put in a lot of work.

Zack Worden of Deltona, Fla., set a new collegiate record with a jump of 194 feet, edging out the previous record of 193 feet set by Louisiana-Lafayette’s Ryan Fitts.

Tyler Scott of Covington won an individual national title for men’s slalom (1 buoy at 39-1/2 feet off).

“Zach is a really strong jumper, and we got a really strong performance from Tyler,” Landrum said. “The women’s team is extremely consistent, and even though we might not have won any individual events, they accumulated a lot of points for us.”

 

The ULM men’s and women’s teams combined for 11,865 points, which topped second-place ULL by nearly 1,000 points and bested the rest of the 12-school field.

ULM has 10 skiiers from five different countries, and Landrum said the Warhawks had the biggest support group she’s seen since becoming coach, including ULM president Nick Bruno.

2011 Katy Ski Jam Presented by Eagle Sports

Katy, Texas – Oct 15, 2011 – Lakes of Katy, a private water ski community located 20 miles west of downtown Houston, will host the second annual Katy Ski Jam Oct 14-15, 2011. An international field of top-ranked professional and senior water ski athletes will compete in slalom and jump tournament events for over $30,000 in prize money. Event excitement will build to the final rounds on Saturday evening following a showcase of Eagle Sports sponsored water sports demonstrations featuring barefoot skiing, hydrofoil and wakeboard flipping, and freestyle ski jumping.

Skifly tour

The Rocketman Night Jump at Ski Fluid is coming up this October 8th.
The World Ski Fly Tour Finals are going to be a blast. The Tour Champion
is going to be wearing the Pit Bull Energy Bar WSFT title belt for the
remainder of 2011!

We have been having a lot of success with the media in Florida. So
far we have had TV coverage twice, 4 radio shows, and a nice little
article in Waterski

Magazine on the event/tour finally. Florida is known world-wide as
the watersports capital of the world, and I think that is part of the
reason why people are paying so much attention to this action packed
event. They see waterskiing as 100% cypress gardens style. We are
changing that perception. I am not saying that isn’t cool; I am saying
that isn’t us!

 First of all, if you are going to night jump you have two have a few qualities…

-1. Ability to 100% block out FEAR….. It’s infectious, and it needs to be eliminated before you strap on the long boards!

-2. Love flying more than anything in the world. You need to be willing to accept reality, if something ends up going wrong.

-3. Be able to combine Passion, Rage, and Calm into one special emotion that equals a massive jump!

Now onto the good stuff.

that’s wlfk am. Then we have 3 Pit Bull and 7-Eleven autograph session
where I will be giving away signed Honu shirts, MasterCraft Rewind
DVD’s, and playing some loud music through my Kicker system! John Mommer
will be shooting the events, and I heard we may even have some bikini
girls out to help bring some attention to the scene! Friday morning
WTVT-TV (FOX) are coming out to Ski Fluid to tape some action and put
together a cool segment to help promote the Rocketman event. After that
we have a few more radio shows, and most likely one of the coolest
events ever! Come out to the event. See some Bikini babes, enjoy some
Buffalo Wild Wings food and beverage, and get a taste of what Night
Flying is all about.
